Smoothie Kits

Summer introduced me to Daily Harvest smoothies, a company that sends pre-frozen green smoothie kits to your doorstep. You just add your own liquid and blend. She then found an instyle.com article that shared some recipes for Daily Harvest smoothies. Since we're already avid smoothie makers, we decided not to spend $7+ to receive smoothie kits at our doorsteps.

Making the smoothies was an involved chopping and measuring activity. At first I was going to record every step of the process. After the first smoothie kits I gave up the idea and just decided to show a picture of the completed smoothies in the top drawer of my fridge's freezer.

I made 6 quart-sized kits for each smoothie. Summer was more ambitious and made 12 each. These are the smoothies I made this time.

Wake n Cake
Ingredients
1/2 of a sliced fresh or frozen organic banana
1/4 cup of diced frozen organic carrots
1/4 cup of diced frozen organic sweet potato
2 pitted organic dates
4 organic walnuts
1/8 tsp diced fresh organic ginger
1/2 tsp organic chia seeds
1/8 tsp organic cinnamon
1/8 tsp organic nutmeg
1/8 tsp organic vanilla
1-1½ cups organic almond, hemp or coconut milk

1 Tbsp. Almond Butter
1/2 cup Spinach
1/2 tsp. Coconut Oil
½ cup Vanilla Almond or Coconut Milk
½ tsp. Ground Cinnamon
Dash of Ground Nutmeg
½ tsp. Vanilla Extract
Dragon Juice
Ingredients:
1 Dragon Fruit, peeled (I substituted a red pear)
1 Kiwi, peeled
½ cup Frozen Mango
½ Lime
1 cup Coconut Water

Pineapple Mint Hydrator
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Mint Leaves
1 cup Frozen Pineapple
¼ cup Cucumber
1/2 tsp. Chia Seeds
½ Lime

Green Mary

½ cup Frozen Kale
½ cup Frozen Spinach
½ of a Large Tomato or ½ cup of Cherry Tomatoes
⅛ cup Frozen Diced Celery
¼ tsp. Prepared Horseradish
1 pinch Cayenne Pepper
1 pinch Black Pepper
½ Lemon
½ cup Water

I also did a Cherry Chocolate kit that had:
1/2 cup frozen dark cherries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 T. cacao powder
1 tsp. cacao nibs
2 Tbs coconut manna
1/2 banana
1 cup spinach
1 cup almond coconut milk

And another that I called My Smoothie because it has the ingredients in my usual morning smoothie:
1 small apple (choppped)
1 small banana (sliced)
1/2 cup papaya chunks
1 cup frozen mixed berries
1 cup kale
1 T. lime juice
1 cup coconut water
