Green Smoothie Cleanse - Jane's 3rd (and final) day

Breakfast
Hot Pink Smoothie (4 1/2 cups)
Same basic recipe as yesterday

Lunch
Purple Berry Smoothie (4 1/2 cups)
Same basic recipe as yesterday

Dinner
Creamsicle Smoothie (6 1/2 cups)
There is no cream and there is no sicle in this smoothie.  It just has such a pretty creamsicle color and such a sweet delicious taste that the name seems to fit. I think I might only use 1 cup of pineapple next time. A definite keeper.

11.1 oz. carton coconut water
2 carrots, washed and broken in pieces
1 orange
1 banana
2 cups frozen pineapple chucks

Willow was telling me that it was recommended to do a periodic 2-day green smoothie cleanse.  The 3-day cleanse was just a special occasion to support Kendra. I can see the wisdom in only making it 2 days. I wasn't hungry today, and I had gotten the bugs out of some of my smoothies so they tasted better, but I could feel I was losing interest. It was harder to think about fixing smoothies than the last 2 days.

All in all it was a great experience. I want to start eating real food again, but I'm not thinking about all the SAD things out there to eat. Instead I'm imagining food that would fit me right back into an Eat to Live or a plant strong Engine 2 diet.

My energy levels have stayed high. I did group active this morning and then walked for about an hour this afternoon. I haven't had headaches or fatigue.  Except for being tired and ready for bed at 9pm, and needing to stay a little closer to a bathroom, it hasn't had a negative impact on my lifestyle.

  1. I am definitely going to try that Creamsicle Smoothie. I don't even care that all I've had for the past 3 days is smoothie, that still looks good!

  2. The creamsicle smoothie does look divine though it'll probably be awhile before I try another smoothie again. Thanks for supporting me through the cleanse. I'm so glad your energy stayed high & that you didn't have any icky side effects.
