Home-grown artichokes

We have an artichoke plant growing in our drive strip.  This is a picture of the plant after Mark harvested six artichokes this evening.  He brought them into the house and we dropped them in a pot of boiling water to which I'd added salt and the juice of one fresh lemon.  They were so tender and delicious!  Mark ate his with drawn butter, but I ate mine plain. They were perfect with just a hint of lemony goodness.

  1. So jealous! Are those the artichokes we planted together? I really wish we had a garden. Maybe the next place we live in will have a yard...or a bigger patio. As far as the pictures are concerned, I like them both! Seriously, they look good together. The top one has an interesting angle and the bottom one has great clarity and color.
